Where Behavior Issues Start
Many people wait until they see a problem to start thinking seriously about dog training. It makes sense. “If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it.” However, your dog may be showing signs of an immanent behavioral issue you just can’t see, a problem you yourself could recognize and nip in the bud if you make the decision to invest in puppy training.
Behavioral issues start out small in puppies. They test the boundaries to see what they can get away with. Your dog may have the habit of nipping playfully, and if left unaddressed it can turn into a contest of dominance, with the nipping turning to painful biting. Your dog may bark occasionally at passersby from the window. If left unaddressed, this can become a constant and disruptive habit. All poor behaviors, if the dog receives no consequences, can become a habit and therefore a real problem.
Most of these bad behaviors begin as puppies, and because puppies are small, the problems are seen as such. But because the problems are small, this is also the ideal time to address them. You have the power to set your dog up for lifelong success by enrolling them in my in-home puppy training program. You’ll receive the same benefits as countless other clients, including a customized training regimen and communication/training skills you’ll be able to use for a lifetime of dog ownership.
Don’t wait. Puppy problems can quickly become the nightmarish scenarios that make the news. I’ve seen too many instances of dog aggression or destructive housebreaking problems that could have been solved easily if the owners had known exactly what to do before their dog reached adulthood. Educate yourself and help make your dog’s home a happy and permanent one by giving me a call today.
